DAILY COURIER - After the wax and wane of electoral processes comes the swearing-in of the declared winners.
This merriment comes in reflection of the peaks and valleys the leader must have surmounted to such an exalted position. At the tick of the clock comes the oath of office taken, a display of power, and new executive orders or bills signed, which are expected to prosper the people of the nation.
As humans, we tend not to forget the struggles and those behind the hindrances on our path to success. Only a few pragmatic leaders embraced a life that forgot what hurt them in the race but never forgot what it taught them. And this could be felt through their thoughts, words, and actions to the people they govern.
Upon the duo leaders addressing their countrymen. The Nigerian President in his words: "This is your country, don't condemn it,” Tinubu said.
According to Trump, "If You are not happy in the US, you can leave," The U.S. President, warned.
Nigeria's President is said to be appealing to his country's passport holders despite the backlash and setback bestowed on him during his election era, as well as the stringent inaccessibility knocked at him on his footpath to winning, President Tinubu reiterated with harmony.
Tinubu, Nigeria's no. 1 citizen and GCFR who has renowned himself as the marketer of the federation, made the statement, “This is your COUNTRY, don't condemn it,” while appealing to religious and traditional leaders and netizens across the country at the Presidential Villa.
It's no news that some clergymen and religious leaders stood against him during his presidential bid, but he never glimpsed himself to be an autocratic leader per se. Irrespective of all odds, Mr. President sent a signal of renewed hope for them to desist from cursing Nigeria's prosperous land. This a reflection of thought that, the fact you don't like me doesn't mean you should condemn the entire country casing over 250 million people.
To Tinubu, Nigeria is a business hub and no one should abuse or condemn his business, probably because you don't like him, but rather wait until it's time to renew his mandate.
This an establishment of facts that as a leader. Tinubu put Nigeria's first before himself. It is a hard fact that Nigeria's President isn't selfish, self-obsessed, and egomaniacal. Tinubu has demonstrated himself as a leader who repays love and peace for backstabbing.
Recall that, President Tinubu made his first state working visit this year to Enugu, South-east, where he commissioned numerous landmark projects initiated by the Enugu State Government, led by Governor Peter Mbah.
It was author Mayur Ramgir who said, “Your actions define your character, your words define your wisdom, but your treatment of others defines REAL you.” President Tinubu's professed statement is a testament that he itched for a renewed hope where prosperity, love, and unity abides among the downtrodden and the nation at large.
