DAILY COURIER - A major traffic jam has ensued on Airport Road, Lugbe, after a tanker overturned between the FHA Bridge and the Shoprite pedestrian crossing, causing vehicles to divert to the opposite lane heading toward the airport. The incident, captured in a video, occurred around 9:00 AM and has left commuters stranded for hours as authorities work to clear the road.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is at the scene with a crane attempting to remove the fallen tanker. In the video, long lines of vehicles can be seen backed up, with frustrated drivers navigating the service lane and others forced to drive on the opposite side of the expressway.
The traffic congestion has extended all the way to the Lugbe axis, with commuters urged to avoid the route if possible. FRSC officials are working against time, hoping to clear the tanker before nightfall to restore the normal flow of traffic.
