DAILY COURIER - The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), led by its Executive Secretary, Hon. Ayuba Gufwan, has expressed its heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Durotolu Oyebode Bankole on his appointment as Chairman of the Board of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State. The appointment was recently announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the commission described the appointment as a significant recognition of Hon. Bankole’s unwavering commitment to service, his impactful leadership within the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his relentless advocacy for the inclusion and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria.

However, the commission used the opportunity to call for greater representation of PWDs in leadership positions across all sectors, noting that more appointments of qualified individuals with disabilities would ensure their voices and contributions shape national development effectively.
“We humbly appeal for more appointments of qualified PWDs across all sectors to ensure that the disability community continues to play an active role in shaping Nigeria’s development,” the statement added.
The NCPWD also expressed confidence in Hon. Bankole’s ability to excel in his new role, advancing the goals of inclusive healthcare and inspiring others. The commission pledged its full support and collaboration to ensure his tenure is marked by significant achievements.
