DAILY COURIER – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended its felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the holy Ramadan fast, urging Nigerians to embrace the divine values of love, unity, peace, patience, tolerance, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its publicity secretary Debo Ologunagba, the PDP called on all Nigerians, particularly those in leadership positions, to re-dedicate themselves to selfless service, guided by principles of truth, fairness, honesty, and impartiality. The party stressed the need to shun corruption, arrogance, manipulation, and insensitivity to the plight of the people.
The PDP emphasized that Eid-el-Fitr offers an opportunity for national reflection and redemption. It urged Nigerians to stand firm for justice, strict adherence to the rule of law, and accountability in governance.
Expressing concern over the prevailing economic hardships, the opposition party lamented that while citizens of other nations are celebrating Eid-el-Fitr in abundance, many Nigerians are struggling due to what it described as "the unbearable hardship occasioned by the misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration."
Despite these challenges, the PDP encouraged Nigerians to remain resilient and apply the lessons of Ramadan in fostering unity, love, and determination to rebuild a prosperous and secure nation, reminiscent of what the party claimed existed under its administration.
Furthermore, the PDP urged Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Fitr celebration as an opportunity to reach out and support the less privileged, displaced persons, and those experiencing hardship. According to the party, sharing and uplifting one another will ensure that the spirit of Eid is felt by all.
Reaffirming its commitment to national development, the PDP extended prayers for peace and prosperity in Nigeria, while wishing the Muslim faithful a joyous and fulfilling Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
