DAILY COURIER, March 1, 2025 – Aare (Hon.) Tolu Bankole, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and beyond as they commence the sacred month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message issued on Saturday, Bankole highlighted Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and unwavering devotion to Almighty Allah. He emphasized the significance of fasting, prayers, and acts of charity, noting that the holy month offers an opportunity for believers to purify their hearts and strengthen their faith.
Quoting the Qur’an from Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183), he reminded the faithful of the divine injunction on fasting:
"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous."
Bankole urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of patience, love, and kindness while reaching out to the less privileged in society. He also encouraged them to draw inspiration from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who emphasized selflessness, humility, and compassion.
"As we observe this spiritual obligation, let us use this time to seek Allah’s guidance, pray for the peace, unity, and progress of our dear nation, and promote harmony among people of different faiths," he stated.
Reaffirming his commitment to inclusivity, Bankole assured Nigerians of the APC-led government’s dedication to fostering an equitable society where every citizen, regardless of background or ability, can thrive. He reiterated his advocacy for policies that empower Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and promote their full integration into national development.
The statement concluded with a prayer for divine acceptance of the fast, strength for believers to complete the sacred month with renewed faith, and abundant blessings for all.
