DAILY COURIER - In a resounding show of solidarity, the Executive Committee (EXCO) and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Olulumo Ward, Ikom Local Government Area, Cross River State, have passed a unanimous vote of confidence on the National Woman Leader of the PDP, Hon. Mrs. Amina Darasimi Bryhm.
The decision was reached during an emergency meeting held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, where party leaders and stakeholders praised Hon. Amina for her unwavering commitment to the party and her transformative leadership in the ward and beyond.
The motion, which was moved and adopted during the joint meeting, described Hon. Amina as a pillar of the PDP in Olulumo Ward, Ikom LGA, and the nation at large. The Ward EXCO and stakeholders also issued a stern warning against what they termed "political mercenaries" allegedly hired to destabilize the ward and tarnish the reputation of the National Woman Leader.
In a statement jointly signed by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Innocent Ijoma Ejukwa, and the Ward Secretary, Mr. Okey Irom, the party leadership urged members to disregard any fake news or misinformation aimed at discrediting Hon. Amina. They emphasized that any claims of her suspension or disciplinary action were false and part of a sinister plot by individuals seeking to divide the party for personal gain.
"Hon. Amina is a strong, committed member of our party who has not only represented us well in the National Working Committee but has also contributed immensely to the growth and development of our ward and local government," the statement read. "We, at the ward where she comes from, will never have any reason to join any plot to suspend her for personal interests. Rather, we owe her a debt of gratitude and confidence for her courage in the battle to rescue and rebuild the PDP."
The statement further described Hon. Amina as a source of pride for Olulumo Ward, noting her dedication to the party's ideals and her efforts to empower women and youths within the community. The EXCO and stakeholders also issued a strong warning to those allegedly working against her, stating, "Those planning to bring her down stand the risk of falling themselves. We have confidence in our daughter, Hon. Amina, and we will continue to support her."
The meeting concluded with a formal vote of confidence in Hon. Amina, reaffirming her position as a trusted leader and a unifying force within the party. The statement was copied to key party organs, including the South-South Governors' Forum, the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT), the National Working Committee, the Cross River State Working Committee, and the Forum of Chapter Chairmen in Cross River State.
The Olulumo Ward PDP leadership called on all party members to remain steadfast and rally behind Hon. Amina, describing her as a beacon of hope for the party's future. They also reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and unity within the ward, urging members to resist any attempts to sow discord.
As the PDP continues to navigate its path toward national resurgence, the unwavering support for Hon. Amina Darasimi Bryhm from her home ward underscores her pivotal role in the party's leadership and her enduring impact on the grassroots level.
