The meeting served as a platform to foster stronger relationships between NNPC and key stakeholders in the entertainment industry, with discussions centered around the company’s upstream and downstream operations, as well as ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
Some of Kannywood’s biggest stars, including Sani Danja, Rahma Sadau, Hadiza Gabon, Adam Zango, Mansurah Isah, and Umar M. Sheriff, were in attendance, underscoring their commitment to using their platforms to promote positive change in the energy sector.
Speaking at the event, NNPC officials highlighted the importance of public awareness in ensuring energy security, emphasizing how strategic partnerships with influential figures like Kannywood actors can help communicate critical energy issues to millions of Nigerians.
The engagement is part of NNPC’s broader initiative to involve various sectors, including entertainment and media, in advocating for responsible energy consumption, environmental sustainability, and national energy security.
Industry analysts have welcomed the move, noting that leveraging Kannywood’s wide reach and cultural influence can significantly improve public understanding of NNPC’s operations, government policies on energy, and the need for collective action against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
