DAILY COURIER – Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on citizens to embrace peace, love, and compassion for the less privileged as Nigerians join the global celebration of Christmas.
In his heartfelt message to the people of Kogi State, Governor Ododo described Christmas as a time for family unity and a celebration of the boundless love and compassion exemplified by the life of Jesus Christ.
“This festive season is a time to celebrate love, unity, and to reflect on the eternal values of peace, hope, and selfless service that define the life and teachings of Jesus Christ,” the governor stated.
Governor Ododo urged residents to use the season as an opportunity to rededicate themselves to the virtues of compassion, tolerance, and kindness. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to the less privileged, sharing warmth, and fostering unity within families and communities.
“Christmas presents an opportunity for us to rededicate ourselves to the virtues of compassion, tolerance, and kindness. It is a time to reach out to those in need, share the warmth of our hearts, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a people,” he said.
The governor commended the people of Kogi State for living together peacefully and demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges. He encouraged them to continue fostering love and friendship within families and neighborhoods, emphasizing that these bonds are crucial for the state’s unity and progress.
Governor Ododo expressed optimism that the spirit of love and compassion displayed during this year’s Christmas celebrations will inspire his administration to work harder towards the collective development of Kogi State. He reassured citizens of his dedication to building a state founded on progress, unity, and shared prosperity.
“Your boundless love and unity during this festive season encourage us to intensify our efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy to every corner of our great state,” he added.
