DAILY COURIER — President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to the Ayoola family of Ilesha, Osun State, following the death of Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola, CON. The esteemed jurist passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of distinguished service in Nigeria’s judiciary.
Justice Ayoola, a retired Supreme Court Justice and former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), had a storied career marked by significant contributions to the legal field. His tenure included notable positions such as Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Gambia from 1980 to 1983, Chief Justice of the Gambia from 1983 to 1992, and President of the Court of Appeals of Seychelles. He also served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria from 1992 to 1998.
In a press statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), President Tinubu praised Justice Ayoola for his unwavering dedication to the nation, his renowned integrity, and his courageous commitment to justice. The President highlighted the late jurist’s rare principles, discipline, and exceptional jurisprudential knowledge, which earned him respect and admiration throughout his career.
President Tinubu also expressed his condolences to the associates and members of the Nigerian judicial community, acknowledging their shared sense of loss. He offered prayers for the repose of Justice Ayoola’s soul and solace to his bereaved family.
