DAILY COURIER - In anticipation of the increased human and vehicular movement during the ember months, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has urged personnel to prioritize their health and wellness. This call comes as part of a broader initiative aimed at tackling traffic infractions and ensuring optimal performance during the busy period.
This charge was disclosed in a press statement today signed by Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer.
Addressing FRSC personnel during the nationwide walk and jog exercise in August 2024, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed emphasized the critical role that health plays in the overall productivity and quality of life of all FRSC staff. He highlighted the Corps' commitment to the safety and well-being of its employees through the launch of a comprehensive health and wellness initiative.
"The Federal Road Safety Corps recognizes that our staff are our greatest asset," said Mohammed. "Investing in their health and wellness is essential to our success. By prioritizing health and wellness, we can improve productivity, reduce absenteeism, and enhance overall job satisfaction for better service delivery."
The initiative, designed to support personnel in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, includes recommendations for regular exercise, balanced nutrition, stress management, and adequate rest. This program underscores the Corps' dedication to promoting safety across Nigeria's highways by ensuring that its staff is in optimal health to perform their duties effectively.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed's call to action is timely, given the anticipated rise in traffic during the ember months, a period typically marked by increased travel and heightened risk of traffic incidents. The FRSC's proactive approach aims to mitigate these risks by ensuring that its personnel are physically and mentally prepared to handle the challenges ahead.
