DAILY COURIER - In a recent announcement from the State House, President Bola Tinubu has designated Mr. Olatunji Bello as the incoming Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice-Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). This appointment, pending Senate confirmation, marks a pivotal moment in the administration's commitment to consumer rights and competition regulation.
According to a statement by the presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale today, Mr. Bello, a distinguished figure in law, administration, and journalism, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His career spans significant positions such as Secretary to the Lagos State Government and Commissioner for Environment, reflecting his dedication to public service and governance.
Educated at the University of Lagos with qualifications in Law and International Law and Diplomacy, Mr. Bello's professional journey commenced in journalism at Concord Newspapers. Over the years, he ascended to prominent editorial roles, including Group Political Editor and Editor of National Concord. His exceptional contributions to journalism were recognized with the prestigious US Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship and culminated in his appointment as Chairman of the Editorial Board at THISDAY Newspapers.
