DAILY COURIER - Nigeria’s 4×100 metres men’s relay team won silver in final at the African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon on Monday.
The quartet of Kanyinsola Ajayi, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Alaba Akintola and Godson Brume finished second behind Ghana.
The Ghanaians emerged winners in the relay final in a time of 38.46 seconds.
But in the women’s 4×100 metres relay final, the quartet of Justina Eyakpobeyan, Tima Godbless, Olayinka Olajide and Tobi Amusan won the gold medal.
They finished ahead of West African rivals Liberia and Ghana in 42.76 seconds.
Since 2018, the Nigerian women’s 4×100 metres team have never lost this event at the African Championships.
