DAILY COURIER – The Pinnacle Times, a digital news publication, has reaffirmed its commitment to ethical journalism, consistency, and the promotion of inclusion as it marks its first anniversary.
In a statement released by the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Olawale Lamina Kazeem, the online newspaper expressed gratitude to its editorial team, contributors, and supporters who have played a vital role in ensuring the uninterrupted daily publication of news stories over the past year.
Reflecting on the milestone, Mr. Olawale likened the achievement to Neil Armstrong’s famous words: “It’s a step for a man, a giant leap for mankind.” He emphasized the importance of journalism in fostering accountability, development, and democracy, reaffirming The Pinnacle Times’ dedication to responsible information dissemination.
“We have cause to thank God and celebrate as we turn a year in the business of offering daily news and marketing services to our customers, advertisers, and readers nationwide and beyond,” he stated.
Acknowledging the critical role of the media in shaping public discourse, he stressed the need for accurate and fact-based reporting, ensuring that the public remains well-informed to make sound decisions in daily life and business.
A key focus of The Pinnacle Times is the promotion of inclusion, particularly for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and other marginalized groups. Mr. Olawale reiterated that the publication remains committed to highlighting issues affecting these communities while presenting factual stories for the general good.
In addition, he called for a more professional approach to online journalism, urging media practitioners, particularly graduates of Mass Communication and Journalism, to bring innovation and credibility to the field. He warned against the dangers of quackery and fake news, stressing the need for adherence to ethical standards.
He also challenged credible online editors’ and publishers’ associations to uphold professional ethics and prevent journalists from becoming tools in the hands of self-serving politicians.
Looking ahead, The Pinnacle Times aims to enhance its use of infographics, analytics, and well-researched content to promote development journalism. Mr. Olawale assured readers that the publication will continue to champion social responsibility while providing balanced and verifiable news.
The online newspaper covers a wide range of topics, including politics, development, education, advocacy, sports, entertainment, and general human-interest stories. With strong representation across social media platforms, The Pinnacle Times is dedicated to reaching a broad audience, particularly young people, and maintaining a fair and balanced approach to news reporting.
