DAILY COURIER - Dangote Petroleum Refinery in a move aimed at alleviating the financial burden on Nigerians, has reduced the price of petrol from N990 per litre to N970 per litre for marketers.
The announcement, made in a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, is seen as a gesture of appreciation from the company to the Nigerian people for their continued support in making the refinery a reality.
According to the statement, the price reduction reflects Dangote Refinery's gratitude towards the Nigerian public for their unwavering backing throughout the process of building and operationalizing the refinery. The company expressed its heartfelt thanks to the government for their efforts in providing a supportive environment that has enabled domestic enterprises like Dangote Refinery to thrive.
Chiejina emphasized that the refinery’s action is a step towards complementing the government's initiatives to stimulate local enterprise and contribute to the country's collective well-being. The move is seen as a reflection of Dangote Refinery’s commitment to not only supporting the local economy but also playing a part in easing the cost of fuel for everyday Nigerians.
Despite the price reduction, Dangote Refinery reassured the public that it would not compromise on the quality of its petroleum products. The statement further emphasized that the refinery would continue to provide high-quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. This commitment aims to ensure that Nigerians continue to enjoy safe, reliable, and top-tier fuel products while benefiting from the price reduction.
The price cut is expected to have a significant impact on fuel prices across the country, especially as Dangote Refinery becomes a major player in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. With its ability to produce refined products domestically, the refinery has the potential to reduce the nation’s dependence on imported fuel, stabilize local prices, and contribute to the overall growth of the sector.
As Nigeria faces ongoing challenges in fuel supply and pricing, the refinery’s price reduction is a welcomed development that aligns with efforts to foster economic sustainability and self-sufficiency.
Dangote Refinery’s latest move underscores its dedication to the growth of Nigeria's energy sector and its resolve to support the nation's path to becoming a global energy player.
