DAILY COURIER — Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has pledged to intensify efforts in combating crime across the state during a ceremony for the distribution of 100 operational vehicles to security agencies. The event, held at the government house in Lokoja, marks a significant step in enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement in the ongoing fight against insecurity.
In his address, Governor Ododo emphasized his administration's determination to sustain and expand current clearance operations targeting criminal activities. "We are committed to making Kogi State a hostile environment for criminals," he stated, highlighting the distribution of vehicles as part of a broader strategy to fortify the state's security architecture.
The governor's remarks were echoed by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Retired), who noted that the provision of new vehicles aims to bolster the operational efficiency of security personnel engaged in ongoing clearance efforts. Omodara reiterated the state government's dedication to ensuring the safety of lives and property for all citizens.
Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, also expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his proactive measures in securing the state. He assured that the newly acquired vehicles will play a critical role in the ongoing offensive against criminal elements.
Earlier in the week, at a press briefing, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, shared that the state executive council had resolved to implement stringent measures against crime to uphold law and order. "Nothing will be spared in our efforts to protect the people of Kogi State," he affirmed.
As Kogi State grapples with various security challenges, the governor’s administration is taking decisive steps to enhance the effectiveness of its security agencies. The recent vehicle distribution is part of a larger commitment to ensure a safer environment for all residents.
Governor Ododo's administration is focused on not only responding to current threats but also establishing a long-term strategy to deter future criminal activities in the region.
The commitment to enhancing security comes at a crucial time for the state, as residents express increasing concerns over safety. With this renewed focus, the Kogi State government aims to restore public confidence and ensure a stable and secure environment for all.
