According to the revised schedule, the APC Rivers State chapter will now hold its Ward Congress on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The Local Government Area (LGA) Congress will follow a week later, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, while the State Congress will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
The decision to reschedule the congresses was reached during a meeting of the NWC on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. While the dates for the congresses have been set, the party noted that other details regarding the schedule of activities will be announced in due course.
The Rivers State congresses are crucial in determining the party’s leadership at various levels, as the APC continues its preparations for future elections. The outcome of these congresses is expected to set the tone for the party's organizational structure in the state, ahead of both local and national political engagements.
