DAILY COURIER - Ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections in Ogun State, Honourable Ademola Oluwajuwon Adeniji, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the chairmanship of Odeda Local Government, has outlined his campaign promises, emphasizing the need to bring government closer to the people.
In his seven-point manifesto, Adeniji assured his constituents of receiving the dividends of democracy, focusing on key areas to improve the well-being of the people.
“I want to inform the people of Odeda Local Government about the key issues my administration plans to address if elected as the next chairman. Local governments, being the third tier of government, are closest to the people, and my administration will work diligently to tackle their concerns,” Adeniji said.
Key Points of Honourable Ademola Oluwajuwon Adeniji’s Campaign Agenda:
1. Enhancing Community Engagement: Adeniji plans to establish regular town hall meetings and community forums to foster transparent communication between the local government and residents. This will ensure that community concerns are addressed, and updates on projects are shared.
2. Local Infrastructure Development: Priority will be given to repairing and maintaining local roads, bridges, and public facilities. The plan includes investing in sustainable streetlight projects and sanitation services to enhance the quality of life in the area.
3. Support for Agriculture and Rural Development: Recognizing Odeda’s large expanse of land suitable for agriculture, Adeniji’s administration will focus on supporting local farmers by providing access to modern farming techniques and resources to promote rural development.
4. Social Welfare Initiatives: Adeniji aims to strengthen social welfare programs, particularly for the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable members of the community, ensuring equitable distribution of welfare resources.
5. Environmental Protection: The administration will initiate community clean-up campaigns under the banner #KeepOdedaClean and work towards creating green spaces to improve the environmental health of the local government.
6. Safety and Security: In collaboration with local security agencies, Adeniji promises to improve safety, reduce crime, and establish neighborhood watch programs to ensure timely responses to security concerns.
7. Real-Time Evaluation of Programs: Adeniji’s administration will implement a real-time evaluation mechanism to track the progress of his proposed plans and ensure their effective execution.
Adeniji also expressed optimism that the recent Supreme Court ruling granting local governments autonomy will assist in achieving these objectives and allow for smooth governance. He urged his supporters to back his candidacy to “take back Odeda” and usher in a new era of development.
With these ambitious plans, Honourable Ademola Oluwajuwon Adeniji is set to offer a responsive and inclusive administration if elected as the chairman of Odeda Local Government.
