DAILY COURIER - Remo Stars were eliminated from the CAF Champions League following a 2-0 defeat to AS FAR of Morocco.
AS FAR won the preliminary round contest 3-2 on aggregate.
The first half ended goalless despite relentless pressure from the host.
The home team however took the lead in the 53rd minute through Joel Beya.
AS FAR were awarded a contentious penalty 12 minutes from time after Ifeanyi Anaemena pulled an opponent inside the box.
El Amine Zouhzouh duly slotted the ball home to put the game beyond Remo Stars.
There will now be only two Nigerian clubs left on continent this year – Enugu Rangers in the Champions League and Enyimba in the Confederation Cup – after El Kanemi Warriors were also eliminated by Dadje of Benin.
