DAILY COURIER - Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has announced a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, in a significant move to enhance the welfare and operational capabilities of police officers in Kogi State. This collaboration aims to address the critical challenges of accommodation and logistics faced by the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police.
Governor Ododo made this announcement during a courtesy visit by the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Mohammad Sheidu, at the Government House in Lokoja. The Governor emphasized the state's commitment to strengthening its relationship with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to ensure the security of lives and property in Kogi State.
"The provision of accommodation through the development of barracks and stations, as well as logistics such as vehicles and other essential facilities, is crucial to enhancing the welfare and operational capabilities of our police officers," stated Governor Ododo. He further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing resourceful young Nigerians to strategic positions, including Alhaji Sheidu.
Governor Ododo assured the Executive Secretary of his continued support, both as the Governor and as a brother from Kogi State, in their collective efforts to make the state and the country proud. He urged Alhaji Sheidu to utilize this opportunity to reposition the Nigeria Police Trust Fund effectively.
In his response, Alhaji Mohammad Sheidu praised Governor Ododo for the impactful policies and programs of his administration, which have significantly improved the lives of Kogi State residents. He expressed his willingness to collaborate closely with the state government to enhance the welfare and effectiveness of police officers, ensuring peace and security in Kogi State and beyond.
This partnership comes on the heels of the recent commissioning of an office complex for the Police Quick Response Unit in Lokoja, aimed at boosting the operational efficiency of the State Command of the Nigeria Police.
