DAILY COURIER — Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has praised the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Kogi State for their efforts in fostering unity among political actors. During a courtesy visit from IPAC members, led by Chairman Honourable Ilyas Badanga, at the Government House in Lokoja, Governor Ododo commended the council for breaking away from the traditional divisive politics and promoting a more collaborative political environment.
In a press statement by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, on August 4, Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration's commitment to building a strong relationship with IPAC to ensure effective leadership that benefits the state's residents. He emphasized the need to move beyond the era of negative political practices that harm the state's reputation, urging political actors to offer constructive critiques and superior policy alternatives that directly impact the people’s lives positively.
"As politicians, it is time to come together to remarket the entire state by towing the lane that will lead to its development as demonstrated by the leadership of IPAC which has put ideas forward that will promote politics of inclusion for the peace and unity of the people of the state," Governor Ododo stated.
In his address, IPAC Chairman Honourable Ilyas Badanga expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his compassionate leadership and open-door policy, which he noted have fostered a harmonious working relationship with key political figures, thereby promoting good governance in Kogi State. Badanga assured that IPAC is committed to continued engagement with the government to ensure a fair and transparent process in the forthcoming local government elections. He also lauded the Governor for his dedication to infrastructural development and the timely payment of workers’ salaries.
Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor, commended IPAC members for their collaborative approach with the current administration. He assured that the Kogi State Government, under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, would continue to prioritize the wellbeing and unity of its people, regardless of political affiliations.
