DAILY COURIER - The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has received widespread commendation for its outstanding efforts in maintaining safety and ensuring the smooth operation of Nigeria’s critical road networks, particularly within the Apapa business hub, a key area for the nation’s economy. This recognition was highlighted during a recent courtesy visit by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, to the Nigeria Shippers’ Council (NSC).
A statement today by the Corps spokesperson, Olusegun Ogungbemide, disclosed that during the visit, Barrister Akutah Pius Ukeyima, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the NSC, expressed profound gratitude to the FRSC for its unwavering support in safeguarding the nation’s road corridors. He described the Corps Marshal as a "brother," emphasizing the close partnership between the FRSC and the NSC, which has been instrumental in decongesting the previously gridlocked Apapa business area.
“The FRSC’s commitment to maintaining safety on our roads has not only facilitated smoother operations within Apapa but has also significantly contributed to the broader economic stability of our nation,” Barr. Akutah stated. “Their efforts have been nothing short of transformative, and we at the Nigeria Shippers’ Council are immensely grateful.”
Barrister Akutah further praised the Corps Marshal’s passion and dedication, noting that the FRSC’s strategic interventions have played a crucial role in the successes achieved by the NSC since he assumed leadership of the Council. The transformation of the Apapa business area, a once notorious hotspot for traffic congestion, has been pivotal in ensuring the efficient movement of cargo, benefiting the Council’s clients and the nation’s economy at large.
In his closing remarks, Barrister Akutah Pius extended his prayers for the continued prosperity of the FRSC and its dedicated staff. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to deepening its collaboration with the FRSC, aiming for even greater milestones in the future.

Through its unwavering dedication and strategic partnerships, the Corps continues to set the standard for road safety and operational excellence across the country.
