DAILY COURIER - President Bola Tinubu has appointed new leaders for seven key agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in a significant move aimed at enhancing the delivery of humanitarian and social development services in Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, today August 6, 2024.
The newly appointed heads include: Dr. Badamasi Lawal, Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). Dr. Lawal, who holds a doctorate in education and has previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State, will now oversee the NSIPA.
Ms. Funmilola Olotu appointed as Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. Ms. Olotu, with a master's degree in business administration and experience as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries, takes the helm of the Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office.
Ms. Aishat Alubankudi, Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups. With a bachelor’s degree in community development, Ms. Alubankudi brings her expertise as a risk assessor and financial manager to this critical role.
Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding. Holding a doctorate degree, Princess Adebowale, who is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and a former local government chairperson, will manage the Home Grown School Feeding programme.
Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam is the Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office. Mr. Imam, an accountant by profession with experience as chief accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd and as a bank manager, will now lead the National Cash Transfer Office.
Mr. Ayuba Gufwan will replace James Lalu As Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities (NCPWD). Mr. Gufwan, an LLB holder and executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos, takes on the role of Executive Secretary for NCPWD.
Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello, Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). With a master's degree in public administration and previous roles as Secretary-General of ALGON and Permanent Secretary in both the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Ms. Bello will lead NAPTIP.
President Tinubu emphasized the need for these newly appointed leaders to demonstrate integrity and diligence in their roles to ensure that the administration's reconfigured welfare programs directly benefit the most vulnerable Nigerians.
