DAILY COURIER - The Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu has commended the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu over his bold steps as the helm in the power sector.
The Governor in a remark during a visit to the Minister on Tuesday in Abuja lauded the ministwr bold Strides in the power sector”, adding that the power sector is critical to national development.
He then enjoined the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Mahmuda Mamman and Directors of the Ministry, to continue to offer support to Adelabu in order to sustain improvements in the sector.
"Cross River State had taken steps to protect power infrastructure in the State with the introduction of drones." the governor said.
Responding, the Minister solicited for the continued support of the Governor and his colleagues in the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) in his ongoing reforms in the sector.
According to Adelabu, it spelt out more responsibilities for the States in the Electricity Act 2023.
Adelabu also called for the protection of Power infrastructure in the State, pleading that the state should intervene in conflicts that could occur on issues of right of way.
