• Promises to Immortalize Slain Students

DAILY COURIER - Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has taken bold steps to restore confidence in the government's ability to secure students, following the abduction of 31 students from the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) on May 9, 2024.
During a meeting with the 29 rescued students, Governor Ododo pledged to complete the perimeter fencing of the university within 16 weeks and ensure full security surveillance of the campus, with round-the-clock emergency response capabilities.
He reiterated his commitment to creating a safe learning environment, vowing to work with the university management to regularly review and improve security measures. The Governor also promised to immortalize the two slain students, James Anajuwe and Caleb Musa, who lost their lives during the abduction.
The Governor's reassurance and commitment to security have been welcomed by the students, management, and education commissioner, Honourable Wemi Jones, who commended the Governor's decisive actions in rescuing the abducted students.
The Vice Chancellor of CUSTECH, Professor Abdulrahaman Salawu, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his support and promised cooperation with the government to ensure the university's speedy development.
This move by Governor Ododo aims to restore confidence in the government's ability to secure educational institutions and ensure a safe learning environment for all students in Kogi State.
