DAILY COURIER - Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has extended her congratulations to Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon, MBE, on her historic appointment as the Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University in the UK.
In a heartfelt message, Dr. Dabiri-Erewa commended Dr. Imafidon's remarkable achievements and described her new role as well-deserved, citing her outstanding track record and relentless pursuit of excellence. Dr. Imafidon's appointment marks her as the youngest person to ever hold the position of Chancellor at a major UK university.
"Dr. Imafidon has continuously made Nigeria proud by breaking records and setting unprecedented standards at such a young age. Her genius and dedication to serving humanity have earned her this prestigious role," Dabiri-Erewa stated.
The NiDCOM chief also revealed that she has been invited to attend Dr. Imafidon's installation ceremony as a special guest, an honor she gratefully acknowledged. She expressed her best wishes for Dr. Imafidon's success and impactful tenure, urging her to continue inspiring others and to keep blazing trails in all her endeavors.
Dr. Imafidon’s impressive journey began with her and her siblings' participation in the ExcellenceInEducation.org.uk mentorship program, which supports inner-city children. She gained global recognition as the youngest person to achieve A-levels in computing and mathematics and was awarded a scholarship to Johns Hopkins University in the USA at just 13 years old.
