DAILY COURIER - There was an indication that the commencement of the payment of Heritage Bank 2.3million depositors may begin anytime soon.
The move is in line with the stipulated Amended Act of 2023 of the NDIC.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Mr. Hassan Bello gave the hint at a Press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
This medium gathered that about 99.9% depositors of the bank have deposits below N5 million, while few other customers have above N5million.
At the briefing, he said: "We are appealing to customers of Heritage bank with registered Biometric Verification Number (BVN) to go to their nearest branches Nationwide to claim their deposits.
"Our preliminary sources gathered that the Bank has about N650 billion deposits and over N700 billions loans."
According to Bello, the Bank has about 116 branches nationwide, adding that they have taken over its activities and deployed their staff to the operational management of the bank who will attend to customers.
