DAILY COURIER – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared all 16 aspirants who obtained its nomination form for the April 20 Ondo governorship primary election.
The aspirants, including Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, were cleared by a seven-man Screening Committee chaired by Sen. Joshua Lidani.
A report of the screening exercise submitted on Saturday, to the party listed the cleared aspirants as Governor Aiyedatiwa; former National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke; Olusoji Adewale Ehinlanwo, a former member of the House of Assembly; Hon. Olugbenga Omogbemi Edema, and business magnate, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.
Others are Engr. (Mrs.) Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo; Hon. Akinfolarin Mayo Samuel; former Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Adewale Olumuyiwa Akinterinwa; legal luminary, Chief Olusola Alexander Oke, SAN; Ohunyeye Olamide Felix, and Barr. Morayo Lebi.
Also cleared for the primary election were Garvey Oladiran Iyanjan; Prof. Francis Adebayo Faduyile, Engr. (Mrs) Judith Folakemi Omogoroye, President Unilag Alumni (Worldwide), Engr. Ifeoluwa Olusola Oyedele and Hon. Omo’Oba Okunjimi Odimayo John.
The APC has fixed April 20 as the date for the direct primary election to decide the flag bearer of the party in the November 16 governorship election.
